A homeowner in the US has told of his surprise after returning home to find that his kitchen tap had been turned on by a squirrel.The man, who lives alone in La Grange, Illinois, said he saw the creature as he entered the property and noticed that the kitchen tap was running and the television had been switched on, pioneerlocal.com reported.According to the website, the man informed the police of the incident after being puzzled at how the squirrel had entered the home given that no one else had a key.Police believe the squirrel scampered along a countertop and knocked over a bottle of dishwashing liquid, which hit the tap, explained pioneerlocal.com.The squirrel also probably stepped on a remote control on the counter, which turned on the TV.It was also reported that other areas of the kitchen, including the countertop, had been left in a mess before the squirrel apparently disappeared and somehow exited the property again.
