Kitchen tap features futuristic measuring device

A new kitchen tap design could make the measuring jug redundant by incorporating an in-built device for measuring precise amounts of water. The No More, No Less tap from designer Jasper Hou, which is currently just a concept, features a knob where users can dial in the exact amount of water they want before checking it on an LCD display on the spout.According to the designer, the tap then allows enough water to flow before automatically shutting off once the required level is reached. The display is powered by the energy generated by the water flow itself, meaning the device does not require an electricity connection. As Dvice.com observed, the taps eco-credentials can also be seen in its automatic 30-second shutoff timer that ensures water is not wasted. That part might be a pain if youre washing dishes, although I suppose any kitchen with a tap this high-tech will probably also have a dishwasher, commented the tech website. The news comes as German car manufacturer Porsche recently revealed its limited edition luxury advent calendar concept that comes with a range of expensive hidden surprises including a fully customisable Porsche Design kitchen.
