Installing kitchen tap aerators can save not only money but water as well.Water flow is reduced by up to 50 per cent when aerators are fitted to kitchen taps, the Windsor Star revealed.Such a move is one way which people could make their homes more environmentally friendly.And by fitting hot water kitchen taps with the devices, energy consumption is also reduced because less water is used.When it comes to doing the washing up, standard kitchen faucets have an average flow rate of 13.5 litres of water per minute, the newspaper stated.But low-flow aerators can be installed to knock this down to around eight litres per minutes, it added.Perrin and Rowe kitchen taps - which include twin levers and crossheads - may help cut back on electricity usage because the hot water is not utilised when only cold is required.Kitchen taps from Perrin and Rowe could also prevent leaks, which may further make a kitchen greener.
