Instant hot water dispensers are becoming increasingly common kitchen sink fixtures, a commentator has observed.US technology writer John Shalwick argued that in addition to providing a ready source of hot water for beverages and instant soup and pasta, such dispensers have many other uses. For example it is great for cleaning baked-on food, removing cheese from grater holes and cleaning wax from candle holders, he said.It can be used for warming baby food, melting chocolate, removing skins from peaches and tomatoes and to speed up the cooking of food on the stove top.In addition, Mr Shalwick suggested that instant hot water can be used to warm plates prior to serving meals or for polishing silver cutlery.Such praise for the fixture comes after research by Post Office Mortgages found that the built-in bar is considered the worst furniture fad of the last 30 years. The feature received the most votes in its poll to find the most regrettable home furniture additions of recent decades.
