The kitchen sink could become a valuable tool for helping people prepare and cook turkey this winter.Noting that today (Thursday, November 25th) is Thanksgiving in the US, Free Press Test Kitchen director Susan M Selasky has set out the answers to a number of commonly asked cooking questions on freep.com.These include the dilemma of what to do if a turkey has not completely thawed.Use a clean kitchen sink, bucket or container large enough so the bird can be completely submerged, she suggests.Leave the original wrapping on the turkey. Place the turkey in the bucket, breast side down, and cover with cold water. Change the water every 30 minutes.Ms Selasky states that this technique will take about 30 minutes per pound for a whole turkey to thaw. The advice comes after a report on kitchen design options by Janis Wallace of QMI Agency, hosted on lfpress.com, noted that a few simple touches can transform a kitchen at minimal expense.
