Kitchen sink strategy can boost green efforts

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

Homeowners can be more efficient in their water use by developing new ways of using their kitchen sink and taps, it has been suggested. An article by the International News referred to a new mass awareness campaign for Water Conservation and Development, which was developed by a number of international bodies including the United Nations Development Fund.It noted that in the kitchen, the campaign urges homeowners to turn off their taps while applying soap to dishes so as to avoid wasting water. The campaign also suggests using a separate bowl or basin beside the kitchen sink for dipping dirty dishes into soapy water, thereby ensuring less water is used in rinsing.According to the news provider, the initiative has also revealed that a household can save an average of 1,500 litres of water every day by being just a little more careful while using water.Meanwhile, Eliot Sefrin, editorial director of Kitchen Bath Design News, recently argued that homeowners are increasingly mindful of the need to keep costs down when renovating their kitchens.ADNFCR-1321-ID-19770007-ADNFCR
