A writer has spoken of her admiration for builders and trades people after helping out on a charity construction project.Tracy Kibble of yorkregion.com described herself as a modern, technology-friendly person, but also as someone lacking DIY skills.Ive seen and heard power tools in action and I know several skilled men and women who use them on a regular basis, she said.I have deep admiration and appreciation for the precision and skill carpenters and builders possess but could never see myself in their shoes.Ms Kibble added that this admiration had grown after going to visit and help out on a Habitat for Humanity building project.Among the skilled and precise tasks she referred to, Ms Kibble said she had helped to lift a countertop onto its final resting place before watching as a builder carefully measured and cut a hole for the kitchen sink.Last week, meanwhile, Bunny Guinness of the Daily Telegraph suggested that a simple kitchen table can be turned into a decoration centrepiece.
