Kitchen renovators need better low carbon training

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

Kitchen renovation projects may be failing to meet certain eco-friendly standards because of a lack of relevant construction sector skills. The Union of Construction, Allied Trades and Technicians (Ucatt) has claimed that the construction industry must retrain workers with new skills if it is to meet the governments low carbon targets.A spokesman for Ucatt said The greatest challenge for the construction industry is to [overcome] the long-term failure to train people properly. The industry is very short-term in its outlook and unless those attitudes change, then it wont meet these challenges. In addition, the spokesman, noted that the low carbon agenda poses a massive challenge, but added that the construction sector must succeed in meeting the targets for the health of the industry.According to recent guidance from Victoria Loustalot of takepart.com, homeowners can do their bit for the environment simply by turning off kitchen taps as soon as possible.ADNFCR-1321-ID-800264136-ADNFCR
