Kitchen renovation is a winter trend

Kitchen renovations could become more popular as the winter months approach, one expert has suggested. Director of the National Home Improvement Council (NHIC) Andrew Leech said that while work on the exterior of a property is often neglected at this time of year, a kitchen refit is where people are looking to do improvements on their home.According to Mr Leech, individuals often take on this type of upgrade because it [adds] value to a property.Refitting a kitchen could help the price of a residence go up by a few more thousand [pounds], he added. Due to the recession, many homeowners are looking to perform updates to their houses themselves, the director noted, leading to the DIY market doing well out of the downturn. Those looking to add value to their property may benefit from replacing a kitchen tap, advised Susan Dunlap, writing for the Star-Telegram, as it is a simple change that can make a big difference.
