Kitchen re-design is top renovation tip

Renovating a kitchen can provide high returns for homeowners at a relatively low cost, according to experts. The organisers of The Scottish Homebuilding Renovating Show claim that the best way of increasing the value of a property is to create a fresh new look in the kitchen. This can be achieved by spending little more than 1,500 in small houses. Another tip includes re-designing the bathroom, which can take the form of changing its colour scheme to white and fitting new tiles. The organisers also recommend creating space for at least one shower.Adding a downstairs loo can also drive a price rise as well as increasing comfort, while a new conservatory and a loft conversion often achieves similarly impressive results.Creating good first impressions is also important in attracting buyers so homeowners should ensure garden and driveway is well maintained, while double glazing is another important factor. The Scottish Homebuilding Renovating Show will offer information on home renovations and takes place on May 17th and 18th at the SECC, Glasgow.
