Homeowners should think about energy consumption and noise emissions when selecting new electrical appliances, a design team has said.Writing for yourhome.ca, Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan - hosts of Canadian TV show Colin Justins Home Heist said that the noise issue is a particular concern in open-plan homes where the kitchen is integrated with other living areas.Using the example of a noisy dishwasher, they said that this would be a problem if someone wanted to watch TV or sit down at a table for a meal in the open-plan area.Colin and Justin made the comments as they discussed one of their recent kitchen renovation projects. They said that by updating a range of existing features in the room, they had been able to create both a stylish and functional kitchen. This included repainting the cabinets while the pair noted that using a mixture of handles had helped to create a unique look D handles at eye level ... look interesting played against traditional steel pulls on base level doors and drawers.Laura Fenton, a writer for the design website Shelter Pop, recently said that neutral colours and clean layouts can help to promote classic, timeless kitchen designs.
