Kitchen owners caught in unrealistic property market

There is currently a huge disparity between the prices that sellers are asking for their properties and the number of buyers currently in the market, Mouseprice has said.Selwyn Lim, director of the online resource for the UK property market, argued that sellers unrealistic pricing of their property has resulted in the housing market witnessing few transactions in recent months. They [homeowners] are usually quite aware of what their properties were worth in 2007 and so, while they know the market has not performed well, are still very reluctant to put them on the market for anything less than what they were worth, he said. The comments come after recent figures from Rightmove showed that sellers have increased their asking prices by 3.1 per cent in October, with the average property now on the market for 236,849.Meanwhile, Tim Doherty, managing director of the National Self Build and Renovation Centre, claimed last week that conditions are currently good for attempting self-build property projects. This could include installing new fixtures like kitchen sinks and taps.
