Homeowners looking for a kitchen with a more masculine design may have read of the new Porsche Design-engineered space. Poggenpohls Porsche Design Kitchen P7340 called the Kitchen for Men by the two companies features high-tech appliances, free-standing islands, handle-free wall-mounted cupboards and black chrome fixtures. Brushed aluminium is the overriding theme of the space, a report from the Los Angeles Times indicated. The premise seems to be that with male traits comes a love of the super sleek, the maximally minimal, the rigorously rectangular, the newspaper said. It was also described as dude heaven, if not Martha Stewarts ideal style. With an estimated price tag of 75,000 (41,700) according to Poggenpohl USs chief executive Ted Chappell, some kitchen enthusiasts may be looking for a cheaper alternative. Black sinks are available from Astracast kitchen sinks, for example. The sharp rectangular lines of the Geo 1 sink also on offer in graphite may appeal to those with more masculine tastes.
