People should consider whether a kitchen floor-plan is suited to their lifestyle needs when buying a new home, it has been suggested.Writing for Canwest News Service, Marc Atiyolil , editor-in-chief of Home Trends Magazine, said that when people are looking to buy a property, they should first think about their own schedule and how they like to spend time at home.He argued that those who enjoy entertaining large groups of people should look for a floor-plan that allows guests to access the key areas of the homes public areas such as the living room and kitchen without passing through more private areas. However, he urged formal entertainers to consider having a separate formal dining room that can be accessed without passing through the kitchen. This way, you can entertain your boss and her husband without them seeing your dirty cookware sitting in your kitchen sink from preparing your five-course meal, he said.Genevieve Gorder, co-host and judge of HGTVs Design Star programme, told the Associated Press this year that the kitchen is now the most task-oriented space in the home.
