Home interior trends including kitchen designs are hot on the heels of the fashion world, it has been suggested.Lara Sargent, a design writer for the Daily Mail, said that washed-out pastels and flesh tones are now making their way from the catwalk into peoples homes.For living areas such as the kitchen, she advised homeowners to choose soft furnishings, wallpaper, curtains, rugs and paint in an elegant mix of earthy and see-through shades. In addition, she advised using a variety of textures including linen, satin, wool and voiles.Ms Sargent also spoke to interior designer Andrea Maflin who suggested homeowners could make their rooms look bigger by laying neutral or fine-stripped carpets against ice blue or gunmetal grey fabric and accessories.Interior designer William MacDonald recently told TheStar.com that homeowners can make their kitchens more trendy by swapping their existing kitchen sinks and taps with burnished copper alternatives.
