An interior designer prefers using peoples existing home features to make redesign projects warmer and more comforting.Laurie Ann McMillin Ray told La Jolla Light that it is important homeowners are surrounded with accessories that make them feel good.People ask me, Should I have this style or that, and I tell them to fill their home with what they love, she added.Ms Ray explained how she had even decorated a kitchen for one of her clients around the pattern of her favourite dishes. This had included blending the drapes and accessories with the colour scheme of the plates. She said she enjoyed creating eclectic designs by combining the old with the new while using a range of colours. This week, designer William MacDonald told TheStar.com that homeowners can make their kitchens more trendy by swapping their existing kitchen sinks and taps with burnished copper alternatives.
