Kitchen contributing to going greener

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

Using less water in kitchen appliances is one of the ways in which people in the UK are becoming more environmentally-friendly, new research has found.A study from uSwitch.com has revealed that more than three-quarters of households are more energy efficient that this time last year. However, more than one third of Britons admit that the reduced cost levels of going green have influenced their decisions more than the benefits to the environment they can achieve. In addition, 79 per cent of respondents are no longer filling the kettle with more water than is needed from the kitchen tap and 78 per cent are using the kitchen sink rather than dishwashers unless they are full.Ann Robinson, director of consumer policy at uSwitch.com, said that progress is being made but people can become more energy efficient. They are taking simple steps, but they are not buying into the major energy efficiency measures because they are worried about the costs involved, are confused about what is available and dont understand the savings they could make, she stated.uSwitch.com has also called for the government to make information about energy efficiency more readily available.ADNFCR-1321-ID-19152305-ADNFCR
