The key to any kitchen is the way the sink, oven and fridge flow together, according to Home and Garden Television (HGTV).In its Remodelling Basics Cost-Conscious Tips and More feature, HGTV says kitchen size is only as important as it relates to use.Good work flow, lighting and storage are the vital ingredients to good kitchen design, according to the channel.It suggests reviewing the budget and design basics before starting on a kitchen remodelling project.HGTV recommends allocating around half your money to cabinets, up to a third for appliance, a quarter for counters and up to 15 per cent each for flooring and lighting.The feature gives guidance on how to balance different types of lighting, making the best use of space and choosing cabinets.Figures released by Alliance and Leicester last month showed that two in five people would like to re-fit their kitchen, making it the fifth most wanted home improvement.
