KBSA Award Winning Designers Announced

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

The Designer of the Year awards, held annually by The Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Specialists Association, went down a storm yet again, with Graham Bell CEO declaring the talent exceptional. The awards, held in Warwickshire two weeks ago, were designed to celebrate the designers, promoting excellence in four different categories: Kitchen Design; Kitchen Concept; Bathroom Design and Young Designer of the Year. This years panel had the very difficult task of picking four winning candidates from a plethora of fantastic entries, however Renee Mascari, designer, CEO KbbNTG; Ben Jones, Project Design Manager, Omega PLC; Julian Bayliss, Managing Director of Cotswold Kitchens; Tina Riley, owner of Modern Homes; John Kirkham, Director, A Bell & Co and Stuart Irving, owner, Ablutions Luxury Bathrooms eventually came to a decision. Diane Berry, of Dianne Berry Kitchens, picked up the Kitchen Designer of the Year Award (sponsored by mereway kitchens). Her curved gallery was depicted as dramatic and inspirational by the judges, and this same entry also won her KBSA Designer of the Year. KBSA Bathroom Designer of the Year (sponsored by Airflow Developments) is a title now held by Emma Montgomery from EKCO. Her well thought out design that transformed the room grabbed her the award, but her other entries also acquired her the name KBSA Young Designer of The Year. This category (sponsored by KbbNTG) is one to look out for, as the designers of the future begin to show themselves. Finally, The Kitchen Concept Design (sponsored by 20:20 technologies) winner, from Kitchens International, was Heather Oliver, winning with her imaginative design that included some beautiful finishing touches. Each winner was awarded with a trophy and certificate, but Graham Ball voiced how difficult it was to pick a clear winner this year, as he said: We selected our judges to cover every possible skillset available. It was such a difficult task selecting winners as the standards were truly inspiring.
