Jamie gets eco-kitchen

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

A fully-equipped eco-kitchen has been built in Rotherham for a new television show being filmed by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver.Atrium Design planned and built the kitchen, which is at the heart of Olivers ambitious plans to transform the town into the culinary capital of Britain, according to the Sheffield Star. The kitchen was created in an empty shop unit, next to the TV chefs Ministry of Food, and features such ecological innovations as hot and cold filtered water taps and a waste disposal unit.In the new programme, Oliver will teach a group of people how to make ten nutritious, low-cost meals in the kitchen, using techniques put into practice by the Ministry of Food during the Second World War.Once they have been shown how to prepare the meals, the volunteers will then be asked to go out into the town and share the skills with others.Inspired by wartime campaigns, such as Dig for Victory, which encouraged people to grow their own vegetables, the Channel 4 programme will attempt to convince British families to cook their own meals from scratch.ADNFCR-1321-ID-18596397-ADNFCR
