Install aerator to reduce tap wastage

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

Taps can become a leading player in a responsible kitchen if an aerator is installed, it was claimed.US newspaper the Seattle Times claimed that a low-flow aerator on the end of a tap could help conserve water in the kitchen by adding air to the spray and ensuring that water does not gush out in wasteful quantities. The site claimed that aerator devices could be screwed onto the end of taps, but leading kitchen manufacturer Franke already incorporates aerators in many of its models, including the FF-1200 Series Pull-Out Spray model, with top-lever, pull-out sprayer and dual aerators. But even for new faucets with in-built aerators, the Seattle Times advised moving from a 2.2 gpm model to a lower flow 1.5 or 1.0 gpm aerator, ensuring that kitchen tap-water wastage was kept to a minimum.Other tips issued by the paper also laid out simple solutions for making the kitchen a more environmentally-friendly and responsible area, including a change of pots and pans.Cooking-ware more than two years old was said to be potentially dangerous if the coating starts to flake, leaving non-stick materials such as Teflon to degrade and run the risk of releasing toxic emissions when the pan is overheated.ADNFCR-1321-ID-18452535-ADNFCR
