Improve rather than move for farmhouse kitchen

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

A couple with ambitious living plans have been told to improve rather than move and achieve their dream kitchen and dream house without losing the individuality of the original site.Like many, the Russells dream of a large farmhouse-style kitchen, but to achieve this and other plans they have considered moving out of their problematic rural house in East Sussex a prospect advised strongly against by property specialists at the Times Online. The Times claimed that demolishing the Russell familys house was a tempting proposition in order to allow for more ambitious plans, but indicated that a dream home could still be created with less disruption and a lower carbon footprint, if inventive design was used. The two-storey house was said to hold rich traces of its heritage, with a single-storey police office attached, bomb-proof concrete slab roof and a Second World War air-raid siren all providing a sense of individuality that must be preserved.Instead of demolishing to rebuild or moving away, the Times advised a new architectural plan that would add a spacious feel by linking the exterior with the interior, creating a large farmhouse kitchen and adjacent kitchen garden to capture the areas clear rural sunsets. The Royal Institute of British Architects was recommended as a good starting place for finding an imaginative architect capable of organising the revamp.ADNFCR-1321-ID-18424117-ADNFCR
