How to stick to a kitchen remodel budget

A kitchen remodel can be costly so, if your budget is important, be sure to set limits at the beginning. Discuss your budget right at the start with your project designers. They will be able to guide you on the right mix of products to help you keep within your limits. Make a list of your main priorities and decide what you most want most from your kitchen? Do you do a lot of entertaining or have a large family? If so, your kitchen appliances, such as your sink, will need to be large enough to accommodate your needs. Do you want to be as eco-friendly as possible? If so, this will determine many of your decisions. The next step is to portion out your budget so that you allocate an individual budget for each item. Dont forget all the little details that your new kitchen will require, such as drawer pulls and knobs for cabinets, a basket strainer for your sink, a garbage disposal unit, the tap/taps and the air gap to route your dishwasher overflow into the sink. Kitchen remodeling isnt just about the larger items and the smaller items can add up if you dont allow for them. You then need to budget for the cost of installation. A rough rule is to allocate 60 percent for the actual kitchen items and 40 percent for installation. Once you have fully planned your budget, you will know whether you can afford to splash out on the odd additional luxury item.
