How to best present your kitchen when your home is for sale

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

Kitchens sell houses and, if your home is on the market, it is vital that you show your kitchen at its best. Although the purpose of your kitchen might appear obvious, you need to make sure this is clear to your potential buyer. For example, if you have a television taking up worktop space or CDs or DVDs cluttering up shelf space, make sure you remove them. By getting rid of kitchen clutter, you help your potential buyer to visualize themselves using the kitchen as their own. It stands to reason that everything should be clean and tidy. The last thing you want is dirty dishes cluttering up your kitchen sink. Also make sure you remove portable kitchen appliances such as blenders and cookbooks and tidy them away in cupboards where they cant be seen. The more worktop space you can free up, the better. It will make your kitchen appear more spacious. Ensure your oven and grill are sparkling clean and repair cracks in walls and damaged tiles. Remove pictures, childrens drawings and fridge magnets etc. and get rid of paperwork on notice boards. Finally, when your home is being viewed by potential buyers, make sure that your kitchen appliances are all turned off. Wait until your visitors have left before turning on the washing machine so that your prospective buyers can view your home in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.
