Suppliers based in Hong Kong are doubling their efforts to develop home automation products as homeowners are embracing the smart home concept more around the world, Global Sources Security Products has revealed.The website noted that the semi-autonomous region of China was expanding in the amount of providers of smart home solutions, with most being made up of system integrators who also buy and sell brands in this sector from overseas companies.One of the major developers, South China House of Technology Consultants (SCHOT), has been operating since 1986 and has worked with Procter Gamble, University of Hong Kong and Bank of America to synchronise their lighting and electrical systems. Developments in Wi-Fi and HomePlug data networks have allowed the expansion of these products out of Hong Kong, perhaps opening up the UK market to more home automation.Mainstream technology has increasingly adopted automation technology including the newest iPhone, which introduced a remote control to work with media player iTunes earlier this month.
