Homeowners warned about kitchen insects

Kitchen owners have been warned by a cleaning specialist that more insects could be found on their sinks this summer. Cockroaches are particularly common throughout spring and summer. The creatures can live for up to a month without any food and are often located in several different areas of the kitchen, Gems Hygiene has told homeowners. Sarah Wade, Gems marketing manager, said As the weather is heating up, the number of crawling insects increases. When these insects get into areas where food is prepared, companies have to find a way of combating the problem without interfering with the day to day activity of the kitchen. It is advisable for homeowners to find a specialist repellent to spray in their kitchens in order to reduce the chance of germs spreading. However, it has to be considered that these repellents can release harmful fumes, so they should not be sprayed in enclosed areas and must always be used with care.
