Homeowners are looking to introduce more colours into their kitchen this year, Pik-A-Pak has said.Caroline Wilson, northern regional sales manager at the home electrical distributor, said that demand for coloured kitchen products had increased very strongly in recent months. This could include products found in food prep and kitchen sink areas. She added that although demand for top-end kitchen goods has not dipped as a result of the recession, there have been constraints on consumers in the lower-end of the market. What we have found is that the middle market has definitely gone down they are still looking to have the quality products, but just not looking to pay quite as much for it, Ms Wilson said from the Totally DIY event in Birmingham. The comments come after Halifax recently reported that ten per cent of people have bypassed professional tradesmen and asked friends or family to fit their new kitchen.
