One persons junk is another persons treasure when it comes to re-using and recycling household items, Ethical Consumer Magazine has claimed.Dan Welch, co-editor of the publication, noted that there are certain great schemes across the country such as the Wesley Community Furniture in Greater Manchester, which collects unwanted household goods and provides them to people in need.Homeowners could choose to recycle a wide range of home furniture and even fixtures like kitchen taps. However, Mr Welch noted that there can be problems with getting some recycled items repaired.Something thats frustrating for a lot of people trying to live greener is that its so hard to get small electrical items fixed, he said.We could do with some more cottage industry in that area.Earlier this month, meanwhile, Spaceslide revealed that 61 per cent of Brits are more likely to tackle simple DIY tasks than they were five years ago.
