Homeowners can bring greater balance to their rooms by decluttering, an expert has argued.Interior designer Barb Soth told the Southtown Star that by encouraging people to have a clear out during renovations, she aims to help them get their lives in order.Ive always been a minimalist, she added. As a designer, I just cant see the vision if theres a bunch of doodads laying around.Ms Soth acknowledged that some homeowners are reluctant to make tough decisions when it comes to throwing away clutter, but added that she will only work with people who trust her judgment and are willing to make big changes. She referred to one of her past home remodel projects where she spent the first six weeks simply decluttering the kitchen, family room and living room while a team of electricians, carpenters and painters renovated parts of the house. Meanwhile, in an article posted in Home Improvement last week, Liverpool-based Rapide Plus Kitchens argued that people planning a kitchen redesign should ensure there is sufficient space around the core areas of the room such as the kitchen sink.
