People are increasingly returning to classic, timeless styles for their kitchens in order to get the most value from their homes, it has been observed.Kitchen renovator Bill Tanasse told GL Woman that in previous years, people used to be reluctant to upgrade the room because they expected to move home further down the line. Now, Im finding that people are saying, Were going to be here a while and we want the kitchen weve always dreamed of, he said.It was also observed that the difficult economic climate may have had an impact on homeowners, with fewer people willing to invest in the latest appliances and fixtures but rather opting for more traditional alternatives.Meanwhile, kitchen designer Dee Lertola suggested that hidden appliances which match the cabinetry and blend into the rest of the kitchen are also growing in popularity.Earlier this week, the Calgary Herald reported that a carefully selected kitchen sink and storage unit helped to add to the mid-Victorian country living feel of a renovated retirement home.
