Homeowners looking for cost-effective countertops

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

People purchasing new countertops for their kitchen are increasingly focusing on cost-effective options, it has been claimed. Tammy Joyner, writing for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, noted that while granite countertops around areas such as the kitchen sink were the mainstay in many houses during the property boom, people are opening up to other choices. Home improvement chains are offering lesser-priced alternatives, such as concrete, solid wood and laminates, as well as a best-value granite, she remarked. All of these materials can cost up to 15 per cent less than traditional surfaces and offer property owners the chance to update their kitchens within a budget, Ms Joyner explained. Those who do possess granite countertops should not be concerned, she added, as the stone retains its value despite the economic downturn. The Deccan Herald recently reported that granite surfaces may be preferred over other materials because it is often easy to maintain.ADNFCR-1321-ID-19383122-ADNFCR
