People should prioritise home improvements like kitchen renovations during the summer, it has been suggested.Andrew Leech, director of the National Home Improvement Council, observed that some people are delaying important DIY jobs in order to spend their earnings on foreign trips.However, he argued that home improvement work is more essential, adding People are thinking about going away on holiday and not spending as much money on DIY improvements, but that is rather a negative approach because really home improvements should take priority over holidays.The comments come after BQ owner Kingfisher announced that like-for-like UK sales fell by 4.4 per cent in the ten weeks up to July 10th 2010, while total sales also fell by 3.6 per cent in the same timeframe.It also follows a report in the Calgary Herald which revealed that a carefully selected kitchen sink and storage unit helped to add to the mid-Victorian country living feel of a renovated retirement home.
