Brits investing in projects such as fitting a new kitchen sink or sink accessories have boosted DIY sales.Grafton have revealed its 2010 profits are 88 per cent higher than in the previous year, with pre-tax profits amounting to more than 21.7 million.The DIY and building materials firm says growth in the UK market resulted in strong figures.Chadwicks and Heiton Buckley operate under the Grafton Group in Ireland.Michael Chadwick, executive chairman of the group, said The UK economy appears to be in a modest growth phase.We expect further improvement in profit as markets recover.The boost in profit could also be a result of tradesmen taking on more home improvement projects.According to the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering, homeowners planning to renovate their kitchens in 2011 should ensure they hire registered professionals.When installing a new kitchen sink or sink accessories, hiring a registered plumber ensures certain standards are met and work completed in compliance with the law.
