The former home of Alfred Tennyson and later Pete Townshend is to be sold, the Times has reported.Karen, ex-wife of the Whos guitarist and songwriter Townshend, updated the three-storey Georgian townhouse in London with a modern kitchen and living space.According to the newspaper, the larger of the two kitchens is Simply a giant marble-topped promontory in the middle of a living room, secreting a dishwasher, oven, hob, sink and storage. Even the taps are hidden from view.Mrs Townshend told the paper about how the kitchen avoided fire damage, which, together with the bathrooms, took two years to install, but water had damaged Georgian panels in the house. For those interested in the property, it may be sold for an estimated 5.5 million. If this price tag is too high, kitchen lovers may prefer to update their favourite space with modern taps such as the Abode Ursa mixer tap. If a more classical, poetic style is more appropriate, the Franke Victorian may brighten up a kitchen.
