Hi-tech kitchen removes need for pots and pans

A new kitchen design idea has done away with the need for saucepans, recipe books and hobs by incorporating futuristic technology.Electroluxs Heart of the Home design suggests using liquid metal technology to transform a standard work surface into a shape-changing super-hob. According to Electrolux, the concept could be a reality by 2050 thanks to advancements in technology. The surface would be able to analyse ingredients that are placed on it and suggests possible recipes. The cook would then be able to draw the size and depth of the pan on the amorphous surface, which would be instantly formed using powerful electro-magnetic fields.Henrik Otto, Electroluxs global head of design, said that the hi-tech solution could even remove the need for draining pans over the kitchen sink, adding Its very simple, you draw your finger along the surface to create a canal to where the basin area is, since you have an amorphous surface you can easily create a small ditch.Interior designer Ellen Cheever recently wrote for Kitchen and Bath Design News that kitchen designs that position the cooking area in the centre of the room are becoming increasingly popular.ADNFCR-1321-ID-19620854-ADNFCR
