Remodelling your kitchen could yield a return of nearly 99 per cent, according to Home and Garden Television (HGTV).In a feature on the top 15 home updates a minor kitchen remodel could give a 98.5 per cent return HGTV said, making it the third most profitable project on the list.A major kitchen remodel could yield a 91 per cent return, making it the sixth most profitable home update.The website suggests a minor kitchen remodel when the room needs a cosmetic facelift and not a drastically different floor plan.For a major remodelling of the kitchen HGTV suggests budgeting ten to 15 per cent of your homes value and visiting local dealers to search for bargains.According to the HGTV figures a minor bathroom remodelling is the most profitable project with a 102 per cent return and living room updates are the least profitable with a 40 per cent return.Last month Halifax reported that 1.7 million households have been living with an unfinished DIY project for more than two years with homeowners blaming time pressures and financial constraints for the work being left uncompleted.
