The governments decision to decrease the Feed-in Tariff (FIT) for solar installations that are bigger than 50kW is an example of misinformation, an energy specialist claims. As a result of the cut, homeowners may be less encouraged to incorporate solar panels alongside their kitchen sinks and the solar market could be adversely affected, according to a spokesman from the Renewable Energy Association (REA).Ray Noble, solar photovoltaic specialist at the REA, said The budget [for solar energy], we have now found out, was all based on single domestic installations for the first four years, even though the actual market had already started and would develop much bigger projects in line with the programme. The government would rather kill off the solar industry than admit its errors, Mr Noble added. These remarks are in response to the coalitions solar funding adjustments, which were announced on March 18th and were made to stop FITs being overused by expansive developments.
