Greener kitchens could attract buyers

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

Two experts have been talking about how the new Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) may increase the attractiveness of homes to buyers or renters. Jon McGowan, an energy doctor from the Energy Savings Trust, said people will look at the new EPCs that will be introduced on October 1st this year and may make their decisions on buying or renting based on them.If a house is under insulated or its got an old boiler these are things that are going to cost you money when youre paying your bills and our research reflects this, he said. This suggests that kitchen features such as underfloor heating may also appeal to buyers. Peter Bolton King, chief executive of the National Association of Estate Agents, also said that prospective tenants may look at EPCs to ascertain how much they would expect to pay for energy bills. People who are interested in green kitchen design may also prefer sustainable features such as wooden worktops and sinks made of metal or ceramic rather than plastic. A range of sink designs are available from Carron Phoenix, County and Franke.ADNFCR-1321-ID-18754619-ADNFCR
