Green kitchen design everywhere

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

A designer has said one way homeowners can go green is in the kitchen.Mariette Barsoum of Divine Kitchens in Westborough, Massachusetts told the Community Advocate that there are a number of environmentally-friendly products available at the moment. Everybody is talking green, she commented.Ms Barsoum said it may be possible to find kitchen cabinets constructed from sustainable materials such as bamboo or fast-growth poplar, or even recycled material. Furthermore, paints and stains that are free of added formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds are used to finish the cabinets. Homeowners considering some green DIY may want to take note of Ms Barsoums words. Cupboards and handles can be brightened up using a splash of eco-friendly paint or stain, while the more adventurous could make their own handles and accessories from recycled wood products.Choosing wooden accessories rather than plastic is a more sustainable way of smartening up a kitchen. Go for a Franke food board in a wooden style or a sink from the County undermount sinks range that looks great with solid wooden work surfaces. ADNFCR-1321-ID-18776754-ADNFCR
