Glass sink pushes the boundaries

Leading sink manufacturer Franke has launched two new model designs made from an unusual material solid glass.Pushing the boundaries and creating a striking impression, the Kubus Glass range combines a glass exterior with integrated undermounted stainless steel sink bowls. To allay any safety or durability fears, the manufacturer has released a video demonstrating the strength of the unit. A 500 gram saucepan is dropped from a height of 80 centimetres. Needless to say, the pan definitely comes off worse and the sink is left without so much as a scratch.Available in either aqua or black tones, the sink represents the balance between modern, forward-thinking style and reliable practicality and is just as compatible with existing kitchen units and layouts are any sink in another material.Swiss firm Franke has been manufacturing kitchen wares such as sinks for decades, after starting out as a sheet metal nearly one hundred years ago.
