Gesture controlled TVs designed for kitchens

A new range of television has been designed to respond to gestures for chefs busy by the kitchen sink or preparing food.Panasonics Viera DMP-HV200 model recognises hand gestures that can be used to change channels and volume while cooking, to save using remotes or buttons with food-covered hands.In addition, the television is splash proof, allowing it to be used by kitchen sinks without fear of water damage.Due out in March in Japan, the new televisions are ideal for viewers with sticky-fingers from baking and food preparation.A couple in San Jose, California, recently installed a 50-inch flat screen television in their kitchen, reports Mercury News.Steve and Lisa Stokes asked for the TV to be embedded within cabinets above the cooker as part of a kitchen refurbishment project.The flat-screen TV was installed so that Lisa Stokes could watch the Food Network while cooking, according to the site.ADNFCR-1321-ID-800418005-ADNFCR
