Homeowners believe that function and form are equally important qualities when it comes to kitchen appliances.A survey by appliance designer Electrolux asked people to choose which aspect form or function would be their main priority when buying a new product, news.wickes.co.uk reported.The results were divided exactly in half, with many respondents struggling to choose between the two.Henrik Otto, Electroluxs senior vice-president for design, said that customers should rightly be concerned about how appliances look.However, he added Performance could be seen as a prerequisite, with the design of a product acting as a differentiator.Last week, a feature on TomsGuide.com noted that Electroluxs new design for a kitchen workstation appliance has sought to cater for older people by allowing them to carry out all cooking tasks in one accessible area.The workstation is an integrated cooking and food preparation solution for smaller spaces which could sit alongside the kitchen sink area of a home.
