Food waste disposal schemes popular

People are becoming increasingly interested in getting rid of kitchen waste in an environmentally-friendly way, it has been revealed. Homeowners are keen to join a new scheme set up by the Vale of Glamorgan Council to recycle refuse generated in the kitchen, the Barry District News reports. From July 13th a further 2,000 residents in the region will join 5,000 houses under the scheme that completed a trial of the arrangement and now have permanent recycling facilities. As part of the initiative, people are supplied with a kitchen bin, a pavement bin and a number of biodegradable corn-starched bags.
