Filter taps can help green a kitchen

Filter taps can be used to make a kitchen more environmentally-friendly, it has been argued.A health and fitness piece by Cincinatti.com writer Liza Barnes noted that many people opt to buy bottled water as a means of ensuring access to a clean and fresh supply. She argued that while the practice may be convenient, it results in a large amount of waste, with many empty bottles ending up in landfills.Although you might recycle yours, keep in mind that it takes energy and resources to manufacture and transport these bottles - and to recycle them too, commented Ms Barnes. She suggested that filter taps are a better option and noted that separate filters can be bought for attaching to standard kitchen taps.Meanwhile, Andrew Leech, director at the National Home Improvement Council, said last week that UK homeowners will adopt a more positive attitude towards improving their property once the summer is over and uncertainty over the countrys economic and political situation eases.
