The latest trends on the fashion catwalk are inspiring a growing number of homeware manufacturers and kitchen design companies, it has been reported.Kristin Martin, a brand manager at the cookware maker Le Creuset, told the Canadian Press that the company gets many of its design ideas from catwalk shows and fashion magazines. She added that after noticing that an eggplant purple colour was all over the runway last year, the firm launched its own new colour a purple called cassis.It definitely influenced our decision because it was a colour people were excited about, she said.Because people were excited about it in terms of fashion, they were going to be excited about it in terms of their homes.Meanwhile, the news provider noted that a special panel discussion was also held at the recent Kitchen and Bath Industry Show in Chicago, US, to consider the relationship between fashion and kitchen form and function.In other news, the Daily Telegraph reported this week that a new kitchen tap design has been developed by two Royal College of Art graduates which doubles up as an innovative fire extinguisher.
