Fancy a Kitchen Sink?

Whatever comes to your mind when you see the words Kitchen Sink, it is unlikely to be what Philadelphians make a bee line for at the Green Eggs Caf. Here, if you order a Kitchen Sink off the menu, you will find yourself tucking into a pile of cheesy-flavoured scrambled eggs with potatoes, peppers and onions, topped with a huge homemade biscuit, finished off with pork sausage gravy and served up in a cast iron skillet. This delightful ten dollar dish is a version of a more traditional southern recipe for biscuits and gravy, made up of sausage dripping, milk, white flour and pieces of meat. In some areas of the United States, this is referred to as Sawmill Gravy because men working at the sawmill used to eat this poor mans food on a regular basis. Yum!
