EPCs better alongside detailed home information

An independent provider of Home Information Packs (HIPs) has claimed that energy efficiency ratings could be more powerfully administered in combination with other key property information.Provider of the home ratings, HIP HIP Hooray.com, said that the Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) offered as part of Hips would be more powerful if accompanied by the Home Condition Report (HCR), which details the more general condition of the property.Set to become an obligatory element of any house sale from December 14th 2007, the various aspects of the Hips report seek to provide homeowners with useful tips on cutting fuel bills and carbon emissions, but HIP HIP Hooray.com said that offering the HCR and EPC together would give a more complete picture.Lesley Sorridimi, of HIP HIP Hooray.com, said The Home Condition Report was of far more interest to consumers than the EPC sitting on its own. He advocated a combined approach, stating A Home Condition Report would include EPC information and so, put in that context, it then becomes important information because its all about information about the property. Not only the condition but the energy efficiency.People looking to up their household energy efficiency can often find that big changes like installing insulation are recommended, but smaller measures, like installing a sink waste disposal unit, are often taken as a simple means of cutting waste levels.ADNFCR-1321-ID-18376796-ADNFCR
