Environmental kitchen concerns rising

There has been a shift in consumer demand for environmentally-friendly kitchen designs, one expert has claimed. Doug Kerr of Kerr Construction noted that while in the past many homeowners would only incorporate green developments into their properties if they were cheap enough, that attitude is beginning to adjust, Sun Media reports. I am finding my clients are slowly changing on green in general from, I will consider it if the cost is not much more to just expecting that a certain level of green is the new normal, he remarked. For those who use a dishwasher instead of a kitchen sink, cutting-edge models exist that can reduce water usage on smaller loads, Mr Kerr added. Lighting is also a popular choice, he explained, although more needs to be done to make new options both aesthetically pleasing and energy-efficient. Contributing to Kitchen Bath Design News, Eliot Sefrin recently advised companies in the industry to prepare for an increasing interest in green technology for food preparation areas.
