Modern eco-friendly material Durat has been singled out as a prime substance for changing the appearance of kitchen worktops. The Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Specialists Association (KBSA) claimed that like Corian another unique solid surface material made of thermosetting plastic one of Durats advantages was its ability to be moulded into sinks.Durat is a unique polyester-based solid surface material made from 50 per cent recycled plastic and remains 100 per cent recyclable itself, raising its green credentials significantly.But its flexible moulding capacity was what KBSA singled out and suitable sinks to be moulded into a Durat-based kitchen worktop design could be as experimental and modern-looking as the round stainless steel finished Carron Phoenix Carisma 400.KBSA explained Durat offers an interesting finish giving an impression of depth, and is easy to clean, hygienic and highly durable. Like Corian it can be moulded into sinks.Durats manufacturers claimed that the material boasts infinite design opportunities, offering various edge design and intarsia patterns and creating a seamless look by the sanding down of edges.
