Dynamic Space latest trend for kitchens

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

Kitchen design is undergoing a change to improve efficiency and ergonomics, the Ottawa Citizen has reported. Dynamic Space is a new concept focusing on the distance between the work areas of sink, cooker and fridge and ways to minimise that space and therefore the time it takes to prepare meals.According to Julinda Balca of 2Go Custom Kitchens, it is the newest thing in kitchen design and an entirely different way to plan a kitchen. Hardware manufacturer Blum came up with the concept after its research found most people divided items into five areas, namely the cleaning zone, cooking zone, prep zone, consumables and non-consumables. The concept also seeks to make use of unused space such as under kitchen sinks and to store items based on how often they are used. Having items exactly where they are needed is one way to make a kitchen more efficient. Storing a Franke food board near the sink and food waste disposer can save valuable time, for example.
